He’s doing a new thing, do you not perceive it?
As this painting was coming together the Lord led me to Isaiah 43:18-19:
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Do you not perceive it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
We’re experiencing much change in the world at an ever-increasing pace, changes that the Word of God prophesies will come to pass in the last days. As I’ve struggled to understand and process everything going on in the world and in my personal life I was not hearing the voice of the Lord clearly, warfare seemed to be increasing again and I was not experiencing His peace consistently. As I meditated on verse 18, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old”, the Lord revealed to me the importance of a pure heart. I asked Him to show me anything in my heart I needed to deal with and He did. If we fail to truly forgive others, confess sin as it happens, continue to believe enemy lies about our identity in Christ, over time they will hinder our ability to hear the Lord clearly and “perceive the new thing” He is doing, declare it and move up and forward in freedom with Him. Once He reveals the heart issue, He is faithful to free us as we diligently seek Him in prayer and in His Word.
He’s doing a new thing. Have you asked Him to reveal what’s in your heart? He will make a road in the wilderness, a river in the desert (move supernaturally in our lives, our nation, the world) to set us free from ALL that hinders us, give us direction and keep us safe in the days ahead as we keep our eyes on Him and seek Him, His heart in the secret place.
